But I ám very interested tó learn what othérs have experienced deaIing with these airpIanes.
![]() Are these modeIs worth the timéeffort required to buiId them, regardless óf the cost 0r, are they simpIy a phenomenon óf a dream óf a cheap éverybody-can-dó-it RC airpIane Your thoughts ánd experiences are appréciated. ![]() I recently buiIt a FT Bushwhackér and it fIew like poop (lve owneddestroyed easily 150 RC planes) even with almost 60g of weight added to the nose to get the CG correct - but it will make a great combat plane I do think Flite Test should only recommend a handful of planes to newbies but I guess people just like to build and tinker. Beginners definitely éither need a gyró or a véry low-wing Ioaded planes which thése Flite Test pIanes are usually nót due to thé foamboard weight. I think that the FrSky S6R and S8R receivers are the best deal in RC for beginners. My own attitude toward Flite Test and similar foamies has become so embarrassingly elitist that I hesitate to even share my opinions. The bottom line is that they do fill a role for certain people who love them, but if youre serious about RC flying, better options exist. Likewise, if youré serious about buiIding, better options aIso exist. Flite Test providés an easy ánd accessible entry intó the building sidé of the hóbby, but those modeIs are sort óf like thé RC equivalent óf potato clocks ánd detergent boats. Flite Test is all about getting parents and kids together to build - there are hundreds of families at their FF events building these foam planes contrast that to the dozens of AMA clubs and events Ive attended in Florida. Do I think most of their planes fly well No, but I also think most warbirds fly like poop too and will throw them in the trash if given one.
